What is atrophic vaginitis?

Atrophic vaginitis is a condition in which the walls of the vagina become thinner and less lubricated. This leads to increased vaginal dryness and inflammation.

It is basically caused by a decrease in ?strogens, the main female sex hormone, and is a very common problem in menopausal women (50% of women with menopause suffer from vaginal atrophy), influencing both their sexual functionality and quality of life. First, apply a small amount of water-based lubricant to the entrance of the vagina (about the size of a chestnut) and massage gently for 2 or 3 minutes.

Then start pressing it gently and gradually into the vagina. If you notice any dryness, add lubricant.
